Abigail Zoe Martin has been taking photographs since she was first handed a vintage camera by her father in her teens. Her passsion for photography grew when she studied at Miami University for a year in the 90s. Here the light was perfect and she was completely inspired by her environment and decided that photography was to be her chosen profession. After finishing her degree she assisted art directors and photographers, eventually getting sponsorship for her first large exhibition “I Must Dance!” in 2002 at The Coningsby Gallery, London, W1. The exhibition launched her career and was covered in Tatler and Time Out as well as on the Radio.

Since then her work has been published in Red Magazine, Easy Living, Psychologies, ES Magazine, The Times, The Gloss and Schon! Magazine amongst others. Abigail worked on a project with the BBC to photograph Radio 4 presenters in their favourite places. A selection of these images were exhibited in the National Portrait Gallery in 2013 and are now part of their permanent collection.

Abigail currently lives in Chicago with her husband Leonardo and her two children, Anoushka and Xavier. She is working on a project photographing 100 people from Chicago, entitled “Chicago Stories” to be exhibited in December 2017. Her blog, Chicagostoriesblog.com is now live.
